With more than 100 local businesses, the downtown district of Kirkwood has numerous restaurants, shops, churches, schools, and small businesses lining its historic streets. The downtown area is also anchored by the Kirkwood Train Station. Built in 1893, the station, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, currently serves as a stop for daily Amtrak passenger trains. Kirkwood is also home to more than 300 acres of park land. It’s mostly known for its large central park that includes an aquatic center, ice rink, outdoor amphitheater, picnic sites, tennis courts, and more!
